A Few Questions We Get Asked About All the Time
-
What is the primary ingredient in your treats? The primary ingredient in our treats will be either beef or chicken depending on the product you select. We only use 100% USA sourced items in our treats.
-
Where does your meats come from?Although we buy our meats from various facilities around the US we get most from farms right here in Utah (USA). Because we're local we like to try and buy these proteins close to our manufacturing operations as possible. This not only supports our local ranchers but ensures we get these fresh as possible.

Why Garlic - Isn't that bad for my dog? We'll start by saying you should always talk to your vet if you're concerned with any ingredient in any thing you give your pets - our treats or otherwise. That being said we've been using the same recipe for more than a decade and tens of thousands of dogs have eaten our treats without any complaints. Garlic, when used in appropriate, small amounts, can be a beneficial ingredient in dog treats. It offers several health advantages for dogs, such as: Natural Antibiotic Properties: Garlic has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties, helping to support your dog's immune system. Flea and Tick Repellent: It's believed that garlic can help repel fleas and ticks, making it a natural option for pest control. Cardiovascular Health: Garlic can aid in improving circulation and may help keep blood vessels healthy. Antioxidant Benefits: It contains antioxidants that help protect the body from oxidative damage. Here are several studies that you can give your vet to review if you're still concerned. A study published on PubMed explored the safety and efficacy of long-term oral administration of aged garlic extract (AGE) in dogs. The research found that administering AGE at a dose of 90 mg/kg/day for 12 weeks did not show any adverse effects in dogs. Additionally, it was observed that AGE upregulated the gene expressions of canine Nrf2 and Nrf2-regulated phase II antioxidant enzymes, suggesting that AGE might safely contribute to the health of dogs when used in appropriate dosages Another study from BMC Veterinary Research supported these findings. It focused on the long-term administration of aged garlic extract and its impact on dogs. The study concluded that administering AGE at specific doses was completely safe and could have beneficial effects on canine health. This study was supported by Wakunaga Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., which aimed to confirm the safe dosage and beneficial functions of AGE for dogs A third source could be the information provided by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), which discusses the relative safety of garlic compared to onions when used in moderation for dogs. It highlights the pharmacological agents in garlic, such as allicin and ajoene, and their potential health benefits. These studies provide a basis for the argument that, in controlled amounts, garlic can be a safe and beneficial component in dog treats. However, it's crucial to always consult with a veterinarian before making any dietary changes for your dog, especially when it involves ingredients like garlic that can be harmful in larger quantities. Always feed your dog treats in moderation.
